Where we help, and where we don't
We act on claims under one set of rules: Part 19 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023. The checker works out which rules apply to your flight and tells you before asking for your details whether it is one we can take on.
What we take on
Flights within Nigeria
Any scheduled domestic flight, on any airline.
Flights departing Nigeria
International flights leaving a Nigerian airport, whatever the airline's nationality.
Flights into Nigeria
International flights arriving in Nigeria, on any airline, unless you already received compensation or assistance in the country you departed from.
Delays, cancellations, denied boarding and downgrades
Where Part 19 gives a right to compensation, a refund or re-routing.
Baggage on Nigerian itineraries
Bags left behind, delayed, lost or damaged on a flight to, from or within Nigeria.
International flights to and from Nigeria
We bring every claim under Nigerian law, whichever airline flew you. If the rules of the other country on your route also cover the flight, the checker tells you before you give us any details, so you can decide which way to claim.
What we don't
Flights that don't start or end in Nigeria
A flight between two other countries is outside Part 19, so we don't take it on. You can still write to the airline directly; the checker tells you where you stand and registers your interest if you'd like to hear from us later.
Claims someone else is already handling, or that have been paid
We can't act where you have instructed another firm on the same claim or have already been compensated for it.
Free or staff tickets
Part 19 does not apply to passengers travelling free of charge or on a reduced fare not available to the public. Tickets issued under a frequent-flyer programme are covered.
Being in scope does not mean a claim will succeed: no compensation is due for a delay below the threshold, or where the airline proves extraordinary circumstances. Source: Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023, Part 19 — Consumer Protection (NCAA). Last reviewed 2 October 2026.
