Who handles my claim?
Claims under Nigeria's Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 are handled by Claims Assist Limited, which is the company you contract with and the company the airline pays under the authority you sign. ClaimsAssist is its trading name. We bring every claim under Nigerian law: flights within Nigeria, and international flights to or from Nigeria on any airline. Flights that do not start or end in Nigeria are not ones we take on. The fee, the payment route and the complaints process are shown before you sign.
Three steps
Most passengers never claim because they don't know the rules or don't have time to chase the airline. We do the chasing.
Check your flight
Tell us the route and what happened. The checker applies Nigeria's passenger-rights rules to your flight and tells you what you may be entitled to — and tells you straight if there's nothing to claim.
We put the claim to the airline
With your signed authority, we send the airline a written claim citing the regulation. If it stays unresolved, we take a complaint to the NCAA's consumer protection directorate.
You're paid if the claim succeeds
The airline decides whether to pay. If it does, our 30% success fee comes out of what is recovered and the balance goes to your bank account. If the claim doesn't succeed, you pay nothing.
What Nigerian law provides
Part 19 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 applies to flights within Nigeria, flights departing Nigeria and flights into Nigeria. Compensation is a share of what you paid, not a fixed sum.
25% of your fare
Where departure is more than six hours late. From two hours the airline owes refreshments and calls; beyond three hours you can choose a refund or re-routing instead.
30% of your ticket price
The regulation provides compensation for a delay of between two and four hours, with meals beyond four hours and a hotel from six.

Unless you were told at least 24 hours before a domestic flight, or seven days before an international one. Always on top of a refund or re-routing.

Payable immediately when you are refused a seat you had confirmed, together with a refund or re-routing and care while you wait.

The fare difference back, plus 30% of the ticket price on a domestic flight or 50% on an international one.

For a bag off-loaded and sent on a later flight — domestic and international respectively. Loss and damage are compensated for the loss you can show.

Escalation to the NCAA
Part 19 lets a representative complain to the regulator on a passenger's written authority once the airline has had its chance. That step is part of the service, not an extra.
No win, no fee
Nothing to pay upfront, and nothing to pay if nothing is recovered. The fee is 30% of what the airline pays, with no VAT on Nigerian claims.

How much does it cost?+
Nothing upfront. Our fee is 30% of the compensation recovered, deducted from it. If your claim does not succeed you pay nothing.
How much compensation will I get?+
Nigerian compensation is a percentage of what you paid for the ticket: at least 25% of the fare on a domestic flight and 30% of the ticket price on an international one. So 25% of a ₦120,000 domestic fare is ₦30,000 — of which you would keep ₦21,000 after our fee. There is no fixed naira amount in the regulation.
My flight was delayed two hours. Do I get compensation?+
On a domestic flight, no. Two hours brings a right to refreshments and calls; beyond three hours you can choose a refund or re-routing; compensation applies only where departure is more than six hours late. International flights are different — the regulation provides compensation for a delay of between two and four hours.
The airline said the delay was due to weather. Is it over?+
Not necessarily. An airline does not have to pay compensation if it can prove extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided. We review the reason it gives against the available evidence — but if the reason holds up, no compensation is due.
Is a refund the same as compensation?+
No. A refund gives you back what you paid for a flight you did not take. Compensation is a separate payment for the disruption. Care — refreshments, meals, a hotel — is a third thing again. You can be entitled to one without the others.
Do you handle flights outside Nigeria?+
We act on claims under Nigerian law: flights within Nigeria, flights departing Nigeria and flights into Nigeria, on any airline. Flights that don't start or end in Nigeria are not ones we take on; the checker explains how to claim those directly.
How long does it take?+
It depends on the airline. Some respond in weeks; a claim that has to go to the NCAA takes longer. We can't promise a date, but you can see where your claim is at any time in the tracker.
