Your rights on Lufthansa flights
As an EU carrier, Lufthansa is bound by EU Regulation 261/2004 on every flight departing the EU/EEA — and, crucially, also on flights *into* the EU from anywhere in the world. A 3-hour arrival delay, a cancellation with under 14 days' notice, or an involuntary bump entitles you to fixed cash compensation regardless of your ticket price.

Per passenger. On flights over 3,500 km delayed 3–4 hours, the amount is halved to €300. Claims reach back 1–10 years depending on the EU country.
Lufthansa, like most EU carriers, rejects a large share of valid claims by over-using the "extraordinary circumstances" defence. We verify the real cause of every disruption against operational data before accepting any rejection, and escalate to national enforcement bodies, and to specialist solicitors where a claim justifies it.
