Air Canada is a large carrier under Canada's APPR, which means the top tier of compensation applies to disruptions within its control on any flight to, from or within Canada. Compensation must be claimed from the airline first — it then has 30 days to respond, a deadline most passengers don't know exists.
| Arrival delay 3 – 6 hours | CAD $400 |
| Arrival delay 6 – 9 hours | CAD $700 |
| Arrival delay 9+ hours | CAD $1,000 |
| Denied boarding | CAD $900 – $2,400 |
Per passenger, for disruptions within the airline's control. Denied boarding compensation is payable within 48 hours.
If Air Canada rejects or ignores the claim, we escalate to the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA). Flights touching the EU, UK or Nigeria may qualify under those stronger regimes instead — we claim under whichever pays most.
